Spanish authorities have alerted motorists to avoid road trips and be aware of icy conditions, with heavy snow expected to sweep across much of Spain into Monday. In Segovia, a province located just northwest of the capital Madrid, intense snowfall on Sunday morning forced many motorists to fit snow chains to their vehicles with slippery conditions seen on a large number of roads.
